Paramahamsa Prajnanananda, the current head of a great lineage of Kriya Yoga, is the president of various charitable organizations which are run by the Kriya Institute.
One of these organizations is the Prajnana Mission, which was founded in 1993 by Paramahamsa Prajnanananda, on the advice and divine guidance of his Guru Paramahamsa Hariharananda. The mission provides educational grants to the blind, handicapped and orphaned students, and towards the construction of building projects such as high school libraries.
The Mission teaches the discipline of Kriya Yoga to sincere seekers irrespective of caste, creed, sex and religion. It is meant to provide spiritual, mental, physical and intellectual upliftment to those on the path of self-realization. The Mission is dedicated to the service of humanity through many spiritual, charitable and educational activities.
Aims and Objectives of Prajnana Mission

To promote integrated physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual growth through yoga, meditation, study, discussion, prayer and social service.

To promote the practice of Kriya Yoga Meditation either in mass, in group or individually, as imparted and propounded by H.H Paramahamsa Hariharananda and Paramahamsa Prajnanananda.

To become the institutional medium for an individual member to attain the highest goal of self realization by simultaneous development of body, mind, intellect and soul through practice of Kriya Yoga taught by Paramahamsa Hariharananda and Paramahamsa Prajnanananda or through the Kriya Yoga Acharyas authorized by them.

To establish libraries and/or undertake publication of books, journals and other periodicals that help widen the mental, intellectual and spiritual horizon of the readers.

To organize cultural activities, public meetings and symposia and to impart practical lessons on Kriya Yoga for the mental and moral benefit of people in general.

To render philanthropic services to the distressed, and weaker sections of the masses, to promote feelings of fraternity among the people irrespective of caste, class, creed, religion and sex and to promote unity and integrity of the society and the nation.

To establish educational institutions for eradication of illiteracy of masses and also for inculcating the spirit of fearlessness and dedication among men and women and to train to work for the moral and spiritual improvement of the people.
Guidelines for life in ashram:
Life in the Ashram is a life of continuous spiritual Practice and Worship.
Creation of Spiritual Environment is Social life.
Publicity and Awareness of Health and Education.
Practice and Propagation of Kriya Yoga.
Publication of Spiritual Literature.
The Society can open branch or branches anywhere as decided by the Executive Committee with the approval of the life president to achieve aforesaid aims & objectives.

Hand in Hand
Paramahamsa Prajnanananda also founded Hand in Hand, a non-profit organization in Austria and USA, which provides humanitarian aid to victims of natural calamities and free medical treatment for the poor. Hand in Hand is a non-profit organization for humanitarian aid, working on projects of providing aid and free medical treatment to victims of natural calamities and creating health care facilities.
One of the KYANZ's objectives is to contribute towards humanitarian aid and working projects by working together with our sister centres to help the poor and needy wherever it is required, either in New Zealand or worldwide.
The organization has three main objectives:
